NT police officer 'may have committed offences' in connection with partner's death, coroner finds

 The Northern Territory coroner has referred the death of a woman involved in an alleged abusive relationship with a serving police officer to prosecutors and the police commissioner, and criticised the handling of multiple reports of domestic violence in the years before her death. An inquest heard 17 reports of disturbances and violence were made to NT Police over five years before the woman, referred to as HD, died as a result of head injuries in March last year. NT COVID vaccination target for remote communities 'isn't ideal', says Indigenous health expert

 Health experts say the Northern Territory's new target to vaccinate 80 per cent of remote residents aged five and older "isn't ideal" and the goalpost must be shifted closer to 100 per cent. "To have an 80 per cent vaccine callout for [people] over five years, it isn't ideal," UNSW epidemiologist and Yawuru woman Kalinda Griffiths said. More than 2,500 invoices for NT quarantine facilities like Howard Springs are still unpaid

 Thousands of travellers have left the Northern Territory's quarantine facilities without paying the fees required for the stay, with the outstanding accounts so far adding up to $6.3 million. Data provided by NT Health shows that, as at the end of September, there were 2,544 outstanding invoices not paid, despite not having agreed payment plans. The cost of 14 days of supervised quarantine is $2,500 per individual or $5,000 per family group of two or more people at the Territory's quarantine facilities in Darwin and Alice Springs.
