NT opposition leader urged to oppose Indigenous Voice by senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price

 Country Liberal senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says her party's leader in the Northern Territory Parliament needs to consider the views of its members, after they voted to reject an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

Speaking on Sunday, Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price praised delegates of the Country Liberal Party (CLP) for voting overwhelmingly in favour of opposing the Voice.

The vote was held at the CLP's Central Council meeting at Lake Bennett Resort on Saturday, after several branches of the party moved motions on the issue.

Last week, NT Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro indicated her parliamentary team could adopt a stance in favour of the Voice, even if the CLP rank and file endorsed the No campaign.
