Darwin's Little Miss Korea operators charged by NT WorkSafe over explosion that injured five diners

 The operators of a popular Korean barbecue restaurant in Darwin could face fines of up to $18 million after being charged over an explosion that injured five diners earlier this year. Emergency services were called to Little Miss Korea on Austin Lane in the CBD after the customers suffered burns when butane gas ignited under their table on the evening of September 7. The Northern Territory's work safety watchdog has now charged the family partnership operating the venue with six breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act. NT WorkSafe said the group of men had been cooking food on a barbecue grill unit using coal. NT Police charge woman, 31, with murder over stabbing death on Darwin's nightlife strip

 Northern Territory police have charged a woman over the stabbing death of a 28-year-old woman on Darwin's nightlife strip on Tuesday night. Edwina Lewis, 31, appeared in Darwin Local Court this morning, charged with murder and intention to cause serious harm in relation to the alleged assault. She did not apply for bail.  In a statement, NT Police alleged a fight occurred shortly before 8:20pm on Tuesday, with police receiving reports that a woman, 28, had collapsed on Mitchell Street in the Darwin CBD, near Shadforth Lane. Bureau of Meteorology issues tropical cyclone warning for Northern Territory and Western Australia

 The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a tropical cyclone warning for the north coast of the Northern Territory and Western Australia.   A tropical low over the Timor Sea is moving south towards the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, near the border between the NT and WA, according to the BOM.  The low could develop into a tropical cyclone during Friday morning, before making landfall on Friday afternoon or evening.  The warning zone covers Kununurra to Kalumburu in northern WA, including Wyndham.  Read More: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-12-22/bom-tropical-cyclone-warning-northern-territory-west-australia/101801982
