Three years after the NT implemented an alcohol 'floor price', review paints mixed picture of its success

 Three years after the Northern Territory implemented Australia's first minimum 'floor price' for alcohol, a review of the policy has issued a mixed report card but recommended it stay in place. Cattle company Hayes Enterprises pleads guilty, fined $32,400, after sacred trees destroyed during land clearing

 A pastoral company has pleaded guilty over the destruction of dozens of important trees on a ceremonial ground in the Northern Territory's Top End.  Hayes Enterprises NT has been fined $32,400 over the damage, which happened at Mainoru Station, east of Katherine, in September 2020. During a hearing on Friday, the Darwin Local Court heard that William Hayes had used a front-end loader to widen a road on the property and cleared 63 trees in the process. The court was told that the company did not have permission from the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority (AAPA) to perform the work, a step required under the Northern Territory Aboriginal Sacred Sites Act of 1989. Two killed in Stuart Highway crash near Katherine, another person dies in accident near Yulara

 Three people have died in two separate road crashes near Katherine in the Top End and outside Yulara near Uluru, according to Northern Territory police. The Stuart Highway was closed in both directions around 40 kilometres south of Katherine on Friday morning. Police said local officers were on the scene and major crash detectives were also travelling from Darwin to respond. No information about the cause of the crash or involvement of any other vehicles has been released.
